Fenn is allergic to wool, so I made this in cotton. We had agreed colours and size and I happily wove a piece that would fold into three to make the bag (no need to allow for shrinkage, as cotton doesn’t). At some point I thought to check what Fenn might use the bag for and was glad I had…”groceries” said she - which wasn’t what I had assumed at all! I duly reinforced the bag with a sturdy cotton lining and a wide Inkle strap that goes right around the bottom of the bag for strength and a good flat base, such that it stands upright and open whilst said groceries are loaded in. I also made sure a standard one litre milk/juice carton can stand upright with the bag closed. Job done, happy customer.
